EPR institutional department
Education Department
Established in March 2022, the Education Department replaced EPR’s Education Component in accordance with the Church’s Strategic Plan 2018–2042.
Department overview
EPR’s public department directory records the establishment of the Education Department in March 2022. The available central description does not provide a complete current mandate, organisational chart, school register or leadership list. This page therefore distinguishes the department’s documented history and dated education-related activities from details that require current institutional confirmation.
Education within EPR
EPR’s public records describe a range of education-related work across church-owned and community education settings. One institutional profile, updated in November 2022, describes Institut Presbytérien de Kirinda (IPK) as an EPR-founded school established in 1981. That historical profile records training fields including accounting, building construction and information and communication technology (ICT). These are details from the 2022 profile and should not be treated as a verified current course catalogue.
Documented education-related activities
- 5 August 2025 – Karama Parish, Remera Presbytery: EPR reported the handover of Early Childhood Development (ECD) infrastructure developed through a partnership involving EPR, ForAfrika and Kamonyi District. The report described an administration office, five classrooms, a kitchen, latrines and a children’s playground. It also stated that some construction work remained unfinished at the time of the handover.
- 9 August 2025 – Nyarusange, Zinga Presbytery: EPR’s activity archive recorded an education-related World Servants volunteer mission involving ECD classroom construction.
- 13 August 2025 – Rwamagana: EPR’s activity archive recorded the completion of ECD classroom construction by World Servants volunteers working with EPR.
These entries are dated examples from EPR’s public activity records. They do not establish the current operational status of the facilities or imply that every activity is managed directly by the central Education Department.
