EPR institutional department
Health Department
EPR’s Health Department describes its mission as promoting quality health care and community health through health facilities and community health projects.
Mandate and scope
The published EPR department profile identifies two broad areas of intervention: health facilities and community health projects. The profile describes a network of district hospitals, health centres and health posts, alongside community initiatives delivered with institutional and development partners.
The facility and project information below reflects the public source profile. It is not confirmation of current facility ownership, management arrangements, service availability, staffing, capacity or operational status.

Community health projects
EPR notes that the number and nature of community health projects vary over time according to available donor funding. Its public profile records the following historical programmes:
- HIV/AIDS response (2002–2019): a long-running community health project. The source also names historical collaboration and funding relationships involving EPUB/Solidarité Protestante, EED (Development Service of the Protestant Churches in Germany) and Bread for the World.
- Youth education project (September 2019–August 2022): education on sexual and reproductive health, responsible sexuality and positive masculinity, with financial support from Bread for the World.
- COVID-19 response (August 2020–July 2021): a project supported by Difaem (German Institute for Medical Mission).
The source also records historical partnerships with CHF International (later Global Communities), Population Services International (PSI) and Catholic Relief Services (CRS). Areas of intervention included HIV/AIDS, hygiene and sanitation, early childhood development, savings and credit, family planning and nutrition.
These programme periods and partner references are historical records; they are not presented as confirmation of active projects or current agreements.

Institutional clarification required
Department count discrepancy: EPR’s central institutional overview identifies five departments, while the Health Department profile describes Health as one of seven departments. Both statements are retained as source-reported information pending formal clarification by EPR. This page does not infer or publish a reconciled department count.
The current departmental leadership, facility register, facility operating status, service scope, current community health projects, partner agreements and updated contact details should be confirmed by EPR before being presented as current information.
